Be still and hear God’s Word
It is wisdom and there to be heard.
The understanding is for us to believe.
The light is for us to receive.
I was still, but it was hard.
Yet, determined to act as God’s ward.
And so I thought, “Peace be still.”
Remaining open to do God’s will.
Was agitation attempting to show up?
Was internal chatter as in an overflowing cup?
Would I be able to fulfill this mission?
Could I release my spiritual inhibition?
I thought this experience to be mundane,
Yet the ordinary is great and the great is often profane.
So I honor the opportunity using the wisdom of God,
Quietly reading the Word and hearing God’s nod.
